Road Bike Legs

12.1 Miles and 8.1 Miles





Helmets are mandatory. Bikes must be in good condition. Event organizers are not responsible for any belongings left at race sites.
A water station, fruit table, mechanical repair area, and port-a-pottie will be available at road bike/mountain bike/road bike transition area at Swift Creek.




From downtown Whitefish, head North on Baker Avenue over the viaduct. Turn left on Edgewood and head to City Beach.



The Course

Road Bike Leg #1:

Exit City Beach from Lakeside Blvd by heading up and over the steep hill and turn left on Dakota Ave. Turn right on Labrie Drive then left on Wisconsin Ave. Wisconsin turns into East Lakeshore. Avoid Upper Whitefish Road (open gated road) by vearing left on Delrey Road. Pass the Swift Creek transition area to the turn around at the end of Delrey Road and end back at the Swift Creek trailhead.


Road Bike Leg #2:

Exit Swift Creek trailhead turning left on Delrey Road (do not go to end of Delrey Road turn around). East Lakeshore turns into Wisconsin Ave, then turn right on Labrie Drive then left of Dakota Ave. Turn right at Skyles Ave riding up and over the short steep hill where you will finish at the arch. DISMOUNT BICYCLE BEFORE GOING THROUGH FINISH ARCH.




There will be no parking at City Beach. Please use neighborhood streets and walk to venue. There will be a temporary loading area to drop off boats and bikes.



Pre-race Meeting

There will be a pre-race meeting at 6:30 AM at City Beach for all competitors. The meeting will provide participants with the most up-to-date information on the race course and a review of all safety precautions. IT IS MANDATORY FOR All PARTICIPANTS TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. The buses leave at 7am and The Glacier Challenge begins with the 8 mile run leg at 8:00 AM.




It is important for all participants to have their race bib visible for timekeepers to see. The timing chip is afixed to the bib so the bib needs to be visible on the front of your shirt. Do not crumple the bib. You should only cross a timing mat when finishing a leg.
